Leona Helmsley and her husband Harry Helmsley had a $1.4 billion real estate empire in New York, including the Empire State Building, the Graybar Building, the Flatiron Building, and 26 hotels.
They were also tax-evading billionaires, who often tried to get out of paying people for their work. Leona, in particular, was known as the Queen of Mean, because she would yell at her employees and treated them like crap.
